Practice Administration Team
Gillian Jamieson is Office Manager. She is supported by trained admin staff who will help you with any administrative aspects of your healthcare. They are bound by the same rules of confidentiality as the doctors and nurses.
Receptionists – Susan, Gill, and Kirsty.
"Receptionists provide an important link for patients within the practice and are your initial contact point for general enquiries. They can provide basic information on services and results and direct you to the right person depending on your health issue or query. Receptionists make most of the patient appointments with the GPs and nurses. They also perform other important tasks such as issuing repeat prescriptions and dealing with prescription enquiries, dealing with financial claims, dealing with patient records and carrying out searches and practice audits"
Teaching and Training
We have been accredited as a training practice and may have up to 2 GP trainees at any one time. These doctors will be fully qualified and will have considerable experience as hospital doctors. They will be with us to gain experience in General Practice.
Sometimes they may video consultations as part of their training but only with your consent. You are fully entitled to refuse being involved in such sessions if you wish.
Current trainee doctors for 2018-2019:
Dr Rebecca Vaughan is working in the practice from August 2018 to July 2019.
Dr Katie Cameron is working in the practice from December 2018 to July 2019.
Recent trainee doctors:
Sometimes we have an FY2 doctor placed in the practice for 4 months of the year. This is a doctor who has completed at least one year as a hospital doctor and is with us to gain experience of General Practice.
Occasionally we have medical students attached to the practice; you will always be informed if they will be present at a consultation and your agreement confirmed beforehand.
We do very much appreciate all patients who help out with our teaching and training service and make it such a success.
In November 2017, Grantley Medical Practice was presented with a good practice award in recognition of Excellence in Education and Training from NHS Education for Scotland.View Details
